Dwell Time of Peripheral Intravenous Catheters and Incidence of Phlebitis: A Randomized Controlled Study

<p>The objectives of the study include:<br> 1. To review the literature on IV therapy, the incidence of phlebitis in relation to dwell time and other aspects of IV therapy.<br> 2. To examine a sample of acute hospitalized patients whose IV catheters are changed at 48 hours, at 72 hours, and over 72 hours.<br> 3. To identify the incidence of phlebitis with each sample subgroup.</p>
