Implementing a Disciple-Making Training for Members of Brownsville Baptist Church in Brownsville, Tennessee

This ministry project is conceived out of the conviction that recovering biblical disciple-making practices at Brownsville Baptist Church will clarify outreach and sustain momentum for future ministry. Chapter 1 identifies the historic and contextual realities that inform this project and the associated goals. Chapter 2 serves as the theological foundation supporting the entire scope of this disciple-making effort through a thorough exegesis of four Scripture passages: Matthew 28:18–20; 2 Timothy 2:1–2; 3:14–17; 4:1– 5. Chapter 3 builds on the previous chapter’s exegetical analysis and filters it through the lenses of historical and practical theology, revealing its contemporary relevance. Chapter 4 presents the content and teaching approach of the ministry project. And finally, chapter 5 evaluates the effectiveness of the ministry project in light of the goals established in Chapter 1. Essentially, this project asserts that every Christ-follower can confidently approach biblical disciple-making practices because of the clarity, efficiency, accessibility, and supremacy of Jesus’s example, as revealed in Scripture.
