Valor de los polimorfismos de los genes CHRNA3A5B4 en la adicción al tabaco. Influencia de los mismos en el proceso de adicción.
Abstract
[EN] The present thesis hypothesizes the existence of an association of genetic variations that contains the genes CHRNA3, CHRNA5 and CHRNB4 and several smoking phenotypes, which could lead to the existence of differences between smokers and nonsmokers and a higher or lower difficulty to quit tobacco in smokers who want to make a serious attempt to quit. The main objective of this study was to analyze the relationship between genetic variations of genes CHRNA3, CHRNA5 and CHRNB4 and tobacco consumption. For this has been made a comparative study between subjects who had never smoked, as a group control, and smokers assets at the time of their participation in the study. A secondary objective was to study the possible influence of factors such as gender and age among the smoking population that goes to a specialized smoking and its relationship to genetic variations studied.
