Effects of personality on life and job satisfaction

Personality seems to play a crucial role in individual satisfaction with life and job. For instance, both life and job satisfaction have shown a correlation to personality traits, like neuroticism and conscientiousness. The aim of the study was to assess if an individual‘s personality affects their life and job satisfaction, along with other variables. The Big Five personality traits were used to measure individual personality traits. The study had 186 participants, who completed the online questionnaire, divided into 138 females and 48 males. The questionnaire was distributed over social media page Facebook. The questionnaire consisted of questions about their background, life satisfaction, job satisfaction, and personality. The findings showed neuroticism to be a negative correlated with life satisfaction, along with being positively correlated with conscientiousness and extraversion. However, job satisfaction did not show a correlation with the big five personality traits.
