Abstract
dc:description.abstractMujeres del Apocalipsis address new readings on gender in Colonial Latin-American Culture. The study is based on inquisition records of Beatas: pious woman, commonly accused of heretical behaviour. Women who gained freedom and a partial share of power through religion imaginary. A citical approach to the reading of her life and imageneries shows the apperance of a new concept of womanhood in the era.
