SAMPLE INTRODUCTION AND INSTRUMENTATION IN PLASMA SPECTROMETRY
Abstract
dc:description.abstractPlasma spectrometry is now a widely accepted technique for the determination of the elemental composition of a wide range of sample types. The successful introduction of volatile organic solvents has however been limited, due to the resulting high solvent loading of the plasma and subsequent plasma instability. The design, function and application of a number of novel desolvation systems have been investigated in this study to decrease this loading and facilitate operation with volatile organic solvents.
