An Examination of the Induction and Teacher Mentoring Program to Inform Retention Efforts in a Suburban School District

Abstract

dc:description.abstract

The teacher mentoring program is an essential part of a teacher’s success during the first years at a school. It is important that a mentoring program is updated to follow the changes in education. This program evaluation looked at the current induction and mentoring program in place and the impact that it made. Throughout the evaluation, teacher feedback was gathered as they were the ones using the program. It was found that there were many missing pieces to the program that resulted in multiple teachers leaving on a yearly basis.
