Yitzhak Rabin: the Struggle For War and Peace, 1967-1995

Abstract

dc:description.abstract

This thesis will critically examine the military and political policies of the late Israeli Prime Minster Yitzhak Rabin with regard to the Arab-Israeli conflict. The thesis analyzes Rabin’s significant effort in resolving the Arab-Israeli conflict, an effort that culminated in the signing of the Oslo Peace Accords in 1993. The key argument this thesis proposes is that Rabin’s decision to pursue peace with the Palestinians in 1993 was a calculated and well developed policy representing Rabin’s ideological transformation from a man of war to a man of peace.
