Topology of Lagrangian immersions and submanifolds
Abstract
dc:description.abstractIn this thesis, we look at some of the first topological results for Lagrangian immersions and embeddings. In particular, we state and consider some applications of the h-principle of Gromov which gives a homotopy classification of Lagrangian immersions. We outline a proof of Matsushima's theorem which states that there is no Lagrangian embedding ... We define the notions of the Malsov class and of monotone Lagrangian immersions or embeddings and we give some examples.
