dc:description.abstractUnsymmetrical compounds of the general type: ArCH2(S)nCH2CH2OH (n = 1-4, Ar - o- or p-ClC6H4, o- or p-MeC6H4, Ph, p-MeOC6H4) have been prepared as analogues of the trisulphide PhCH2SSSCH2CH2OH which occurs naturally in the stem and root of the plant Petivcris alliacea.
