Survey of the Lincoln College Farmers' Conference 1981 including a brief resume of college extension: Presented in partial fulfilment of the RDEC option for the Degree of Bachelor of Commerce (Hort.) in the University of Canterbury

Abstract

dc:description

The Lincoln College Farmers' Conference has been an annual event for 30 years. Originally proposed by the College Director in 1949, it has served the farming community through a period of constant change. The purpose of this study then, is to examine the views of those who attend. Are they being satisfied? In particular, what changes would they like made? It is also an opportunity to gather information about the conference, providing a basis for future discussion and programme selection. Areas of future study have been highlighted by the survey, with observations of those who do not attend, being a major one. For the conference to provide a service to the farming community, it must be in tune with its needs. Needs, however, are subject to change, and in gauging the extent of this change, the survey has been of particular use.
