<p>"Carlota Lucumí" is a creative work of cultural significance, written in the novella form. It follows the protagonist, Carlota Lucumí, a woman of Yoruba descent, who is taken captive and sold to Spanish slave traders, who in turn transport her to Cuba. While working on a plantation in Cuba, Carlota leads a violent rebellion against the slave owners.</p>
