Abstract
dc:descriptionTHE OPTIMUM HEAT EXCHANGERS NETWORKING IS THE MAIN WAY TO INTEGRATE INDUSTRIAL HEAT LOADS. THE "PINCH POINT METHOD" (B. LINNHOFF 1978-1982) APPROACHES THE PROBLEM USING THERMODYNAMICS AND THEN IT USES THE EXPERIENCE OF THE DESIGN ENGINEER TO CHOOSE AND CALIBRATE THE FINAL NETWORK. THE NEW ALGORITHM IS BASED ON THE FOLLOWING NEW ARGUMENTS: THE FLOWS ARE SEPERATED INTO CATEGORIES, WITH RESPECT TO RELEVANT HEAT CAPACITIES, THE FULL DRIVING FORCES UTILIZATION BY MEANS OF TWO NEW DIAGRAMS USE AS SELECTION CRITERIA. THE NEW CRITERION CALLED "THE HEAT CAPACITY SURPLUS CRITERION" FOR THE FUTURE MATCHES OF HOT AND COLD STREAMS, THE "PSEUDO-PINCH POINT" THERMODYNAMIC HEURISTIC WHICH HANDLES THE DESIGN PROBLEM AWAY FROM THE PINCH POINT VACINITY, THE "CYCLE COMBINATIONS OF MATCHES" VERIFIES THE CRITERION. "THE HOT STREAM MUST ALWAYS BE KEPT HOTTER THAN THE COMBINED COLD STREAM", AND AT LAST A NEW METHOD IS SUGGESTED FOR "THE ENERGY RELAXATION" OFMAXIMUM ENERGY RECOVERY NETWORKS. THE STUDY PROVIDES A TOOL TO THE DESIGN ENGINEER FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF HEAT EXCHANGER NETWORKS WITH MAXIMUM ENERGY RECOVERY.
