ΜΕΛΕΤΗ ΕΝΔΟΚΥΤΤΑΡΙΟΥ ΦΩΣΦΟΡΟΥ ΣΕ ΠΡΟΩΡΑ ΝΕΟΓΝΑ ΚΑΤΑ ΤΟΥΣ ΔΥΟ ΠΡΩΤΟΥΣ ΜΗΝΕΣ ΤΗΣ ΖΩΗΣ ΤΟΥΣ
Abstract
dc:descriptionIN THIS WORK FIFTEEN PREMATURE NEONATES WITH BIRTH WEIGHTS LESS THAN 2500 G AND32-36 WEEKS OF GESTATION WERE STUDIED DURING THE FIRST TWO MONTHS OF LIFE. THEPARAMETERS STUDIED WERE THE LEVELS OF INORGANIC PHOSPHATE IN RED CELL AND THE EXTRACELLULAR PLASMA, THE PLASMA CALCIUM AND ALKALINE PHOSPHATASE, THE ORGANIC PHOSPHATES OF ATP AND 2,3 DPG IN THE ERYTHROCYTES. BLOOD CALCIUM WAS LOW IN THE1ST DAY OF LIFE BUT CORRECTED WITHIN TWO WEEKS. PLASMA PHOSPHATE SHOWED A PARALLEL BUT FAR SMALLER INCREASE IN THE FIRST TWO WEEKS AND STABILIZED THEREAFTER.IN CONTRAST RED CELL PHOSPHATE SHOWED A STEADY AND SIGNIFICANT INCREASE ALL THROUGH THE TWO MONTHS. THIS CHANGE IN INTRACELLULAR PHOSPHATE SEEMS TO BE INDEPENDED OF PLASMA PI CHANGES. BECAUSE OF THAT AN INCREASE IN THE RED CELL PI TO PLASMA PI RATIO WAS OBSERVED SUGGESTING A MORE COMPLEX MECHANISM OF PI TRANSPORT ACROSS THE MEMBRANE THAN FACILITATED DIFFUSION. THE PHYSIOLOGICAL DECREASE IN RED CELL HAEMOGLOMBIN CALCULATED FROM HAEMATOCRIT WAS NEGATIVELY RELATED TO THE INCREASE IN RED CELL PHOSPHATE. IT PROBABLY INDICATES A ROLE OF THIS HIGHLY CHARGED PROTEIN AFFECTING THE ANION DISTRIBUTION ACROSS THE CELL MEMBRANE. THE INCREASES OF THE RED CELL ORGANIC PHOSPHATE ATP AND 2,3 DPG INDICATE THE NEONATAL ADAPTION TO THE PHYSIOLOGIC ANEMIA THAT OCCURS FOR THE BETTER OXYGENATION OF THE TISSUES.
