ΣΥΜΒΟΛΗ ΣΤΗ ΜΕΛΕΤΗ ΤΩΝ ΧΗΜΙΚΩΝ ΣΥΣΤΑΤΙΚΩΝ ΤΩΝ ΑΝΘΕΩΝ ΤΟΥ FRAXINUS ORNUS
Abstract
dc:descriptionTHIS THESIS CONCERNS THE CONSTITUENTS OF THE FLOWERS OF FRAXINUS ORNUS CULTIVATED IN GREECE. THE PRINCIPAL BOTANICAL AND CHEMICAL FEATURES AS WELL AS THE THERAPEUTIC USES, OF PLANTS BELONGING TO THE GENUS FRAXINUS HAVE BEEN DESCRIBED IN THE FIRST PART OF THIS STUDY. IN ADDITION, THE EFFECTS OF HYDROXYLATION, METHYLATION, AND GLYCOSYLATION ON THE U.V. SPECTRA OF OXYCOUMARINS HAVE BEEN NOTED. THE RESEARCH ON THE CONSTITUENTS OF THE FLOWERS HAVE BEEN PERFORMED IN TWOSTAGES. A. PRELIMINARY TESTS. THE FOLLOWING GROUPS OF SUBSTANCES HAVE BEEN DETECTED: TANNINS, AMINO ACIDS (8 IDENTIFIED) POLYPHENOLS (FLAVONOID, COUMARINS) FREE SUGARS, TRITERPENES, MUCILAGE. THE SEARCH FOR SAPONINS, ALKALOIDS, GUINONES, AND ESSENTIAL OIL WAS NEGATIVE. B. MAIN RESEARCH. THE MATERIAL (DRIED FLOWERS) WAS SUCCESSIVELY EXTRACTED BY PETROLEUM ETHER, ETHER, CHLOROFORM AND ALCOHOL 95. A. IN THE PETROLEUM ETHER EXTRACT THE FOLLOWING CONSTITUENTS WERE ISOLATED AND IDENTIFIED: B-SITOSTEROL (IN THE UNSAPONIFIABLE MATTER). IAURIC, MYRISTIC, PALMITIC, PALMITOLEIC, STEATIC, OLEIC, LINOLEIC AND LINOLENIC ACIDS. B. URSOLIC ACID HAS BEEN ISOLATED AND IDENTIFIED IN ETHER EXTRACTS. C. IN THE ETHANOLIC EXTRACT HAVE BEEN ISOLATED AND IDENTIFIED THE FOLLOWING: SUBSTANCE A: QUERCETIN-3-7-0-DIGALACTOSIDE. SUBSTANCE B: AESCULETIN. SUBSTANCE C: FRAXIN.SUBSTANCE D: AESCULIN. SUBSTANCE E: CICHORIIN. SUBSTANCE F: RHAMNETIN. SUBSTANCE H: GUERCETIN. SUBSTANCE I: GUERCETIN- 3-GALACTOSIDE. SUBSTANCE J: GUERCETRIN. SUBSTANCE K: RUTIN.
