Messungen und Rechnungen zu strukturmechanischen Fragen im Alignmentsystem von ATLAS und DATCHA

This work describes the precise measurements made on the <br>six DATCHA <br>alignment bars. In parallel a finite <br>element model of these carbon fiber bars was developed which showed to be <br>able to give qualitative predictions on the bar's mechanical <br>behavior. <br>Large test series have been done to examine properties of <br>carbon fiber such as elasticity and expansion under <br>exchange of moisture. Hereby large inhomogenities as high as <br>+/- 15% showed up. <br>This may aggravate precise numerical calculations or <br>optimization of carbon fiber bar's properties.
