Atlas: a collection of poems on moving to the Wild West

<p>Atlas, by William A. White is a vivid collection prose and poems, read as snapshots on life for a young, black, queer, male moving from small town Applalachia to what seemed like an open and lawless western city near the Rockies; a journey of finding self, and of home.</p> <p>Atlas is a collection that pushes phonic elements to story telling, captures subtle imagery, and harkens readers back to the fading language of the beatniks and stoic voice of the modernists of the late twentith century. Above all, Atlas is a collection of prose and poetry that speaks of the existence and experience while traveling and relocating across country, all from the point of view of a person otherwise labeled as “other”.</p>
