Después del exilio: El regreso y el retorno en la autoficción latinoamericana del siglo XXI

<p>The present work analyzes the return—both the physical return and <em>anticipated </em>physical return— to the homeland after living in exile, the act of remembering caused by this process, and the metareflective role that the genre of autofiction plays in this interaction. The dissertation examines the twenty-first century autofictions of four Latin American countries: <em>La casa de los Conejos </em>by Laura Alcoba of Argentina; <em>Memorias prematuras </em>by Rafael Gumucio of Chile; <em>ConPasión absoluta</em> by Carol Zardetto of Guatemala; and <em>El sueño del retorno </em>by Horacio Castellanos Moya of El Salvador. These autofictions are part of an important corpus, one that offers a lens into the cultural and political implications of the return to countries that were once ruptured by dictatorships and civil wars. In addition, this dissertation provides a theoretical framework for the theme of the return and the auto-fictional narrative processes that have been developed over the last two decades.</p> <p>El presente trabajo analiza el regreso —ambos el regreso físico y el regreso anticipado—al país de origen después de vivir en el exilio, el acto de recordar causado por este proceso, y el rol metareflexivo que tiene el género de la autoficción en esta interacción. La disertación examina la autoficción de cuatro países latinoamericanos escritos en el siglo veintiuno: <em>La casa de los Conejos </em>por Laura Alcoba de Argentina; <em>Memorias prematuras </em>por Rafael Gumucio de Chile; <em>ConPasión absoluta</em> por Carol Zardetto de Guatemala; y <em>El sueño del retorno </em>por Horacio Castellanos Moya de El Salvador. Estas autoficciones son parte de un corpus que aporta claridad con respecto al regreso y las implicaciones político-culturales en los respectivos países que una vez fueron víctimas de dictaduras y guerras internas. Asimismo, este trabajo provee un marco teórico para el tema del regreso y los procesos narrativos en las autoficciones que se han venido gestando en las últimas dos décadas.</p>
