dc:description.abstractIt was the purpose of this study (1) to describe practices and aids of orienting new and beginning teachers, (2) to view the needs of first-year teachers in relation to their initial teaching experience, (3) to review the principles of a good orientation program, and (4) to propose a ten-day pre-service orientation program that could be tested in the Kennewick School District Number 17, Kennewick, Washington.
