Abstract
dc:description.abstractIt was the purpose of this study (1) to classify causes of reported teacher absences; (2) to compare frequency of absences in men and women teachers; (3) to determine months of the year and days of the week showing the greatest number of teacher absences; (4) to compare absence patterns in married and unmarried teachers; (5) to determine age groups of teachers having the greatest frequency of absences; and (6) to determine whether extended sick leave provisions and duty-free noon hours have had any substantial effect on teacher absence patterns.
