A Comparison of Second and Fourth Grade Children’s Multiplicative Abilities
Abstract
dc:description.abstractIt was the purpose of this study to (1) compare the multiplicative abilities of fourth graders using the textbook form of learning to that of second graders using the textbook form of learning supplemented by the Cuisenaire Rods; (2) determine which area of multiplication might be stressed in the coming years to give the district a better primary arithmetic program; and (3) determine if the rods were as helpful to the slow learners as they were to the fast learners.
