The implementation of moderation of assessment policy at a school and district : a case study
Abstract
dc:description.abstractModeration of assessment is a quality control mechanism that formed part of the traditional examinations system. With the compulsory introduction of school based assessment in grade 12 in South Africa, moderation of assessments other than examinations came into the forefront of policy discourse. The Western Cape Education Department (WCED) introduced a Moderation Policy which was developmental in its approach of quality assurance of assessment...This study aimed to describe how the policy was understood and implemented at a school and a district.
