He Hyperlipemias are characterized by a number of metabolic changes that occur when the levels of circulating lipids are high as a consequence of the increase in fat intake or overproduction of the body itse lf. In general the h yperlipemias are considered an important public health problem, because they are directly related to cardiovascular problems, highlighting cerebral and coronary atherosclerotic disease, reversing in costs for medical vascular accident . There are two important factors that are linked to the predisposition of increased lipids, modifiable, including physical inactivity, smoking and some diseases such as diabetes and hypertension, and non - modifiable, such as age, sex, and also hereditary c haracteristics. Since this disease is often accompanied by cardiovascular complications such as hypertension, diabetes and atherosclerosis due to accumulation of lipoproteins in the vessels when they are in high concentrations. Therefore the objective of t his study is to perform a literature review approach making a major disease involved, demonstrating the importance of diagnosis, monitoring and treatment, performing the analysis of new methodologies, to prevent or delay complications of Hyperlipemias
