A língua inglesa na educação infantil

The interest in the learning English language comes from the rapid expansion that English had the daily lives of children. In this new scenario, many schools searched to respond to this new demand. This research aims to indicate psycho-pedagogical principles that guide the teaching- learning process of a foreign language in kindergarten, and is a result from the approximation of these two fields of interest: early childhood education and learning processes of a foreign language. The methodology used for this research was the bibliographical, with a study of sources that helped us understand the subject discussed in this research, the English language in kindergarten. We conclude that it is possible to have a English education for children from kindergarten, without to prejudice in learning of other subjects present in the school curriculum. For this, we must understand that this process does not depend only on stimulus from the school environment, but also interactions and external experiences that children have in life. So we realize that it is necessary an upgrading in teaching methods and in the way that content is passed.
