A influência do uso do colete balístico nas patologias relacionadas a postura em policiais militares

dc:description.abstractThe military police is subjected to fadigantes conditions in their work shift, which can compromise their quality of life, health and physical well-being and psychological, as well as exposure to armed conflict, which is configured in an epidemiological risk of the military profession. Despite these factors, little attention is given to occupational hazards of this profession. In view of this, this study aimed to give greater emphasis to the health of PM, with the purpose of evaluating the design of these professionals regarding ballistic vest that is one of the personal protective equipment of the military. This is a descriptive study conducted with the police of the Chichi Rounds Tactics with Motorcycle Support (ROTAM) of the First Battalion of the city of João Pessoa - PB. The survey had a sample of (n = 30) military, 29 male and 01 female, mean age 30 years old. The instrument used for data collection was a structured questionnaire, whose questions were presented to all subjects, with exactly the same words and the same order, can be self-administered. Of police respondents, more than half complained ballistic vest with respect to your comfort and weight. Also they related the use of the vest fatigue at the end of the work shift and the presence of pain in the lower back region. These results demonstrate the dissatisfaction of these professionals regarding the ballistic vest. During the research, it was also observed the lack of studies related to ballistic vest and it is suggested that greater attention to this health factor of the military police.
