As dificuldades de internacionalização do algodão colorido paraibano: um estudo de caso sobre a cooperativa CoopNatural
Abstract
dc:description.abstractIn the current context of increasing globalization, the internationalization of companies has represented a means of expanding markets beyond national borders, thus creating a new business opportunity model. In Paraíba, the strategic value of cotton and, especially, the colored cotton, has triggered a process of internationalization adopting a development strategy from cooperatives. In view of this, this article discusses the main difficulties faced by this sector in Paraiba international negotiation level. Thus, the main theories of internationalization will be addressed, such as those adopted by the Vemon approach; the Uppsala School; and the concept of Business Network International, the latter being of great importance for the present analysis. Next will be presented the importance of cotton in the national and regional history. Finally, a case study should be performed in order to demonstrate the major advances and difficulties pointed out by members directly involved in this type of production. All this overview will serve as a basis for the conclusion that the restricted access to resources has limited the further development of Paraiba cotton sector.
