Gênero, desenvolvimento e relações internacionais: uma análise do avanço do tema nas Nações Unidas.
Abstract
dc:description.abstractThe process of inclusion of the fight for gender equality in the international agenda began to develop more effectively from the creation of the United Nations (UN) in 1945. Since then, the gender issue became central at the United Nations, gaining greater prominence in 1975, with the creation of the United Nations Decade for Women. Thus, the concept of empowerment was brought to the UN sphere as the main element for the achievement of gender equality. This paper proposes to explore the process of integration of the gender equality struggle in the international agenda, as well as analyze the concept of women's empowerment and the effectiveness of the criation and evaluation mechanisms of programs designed to promote gender equality.
