Uso da informação: estudo de usuário realizado no arquivo do setor de escolas extintas da Secretaria de Educação da Paraíba

The research aims to know the informational use of the archive of the Extinct School Department from the Paraiba Secretariat of Education by the users perspective. The research has a descriptive and exploratory character and presents the quantitative and qualitative approaches for the analysis of the results. As instrument for the data collection an eight-question questionnaire was used. The sample consisted of fifty users surveyed. It was concluded that there was no predominance of either sex of respondents, half female and half male, the majority of respondents have age between 26 and 35 years. The most searched document by the users is the school transcript. The research indicates that users of the archive are satisfied with the services provided and show the importance of the department regarding the search of the requested information. We can conclude that industry acts as guardian of important sources of information, not only for the individuals involved: students and school officials who had closed their activities. The sector provides that the redemption of history is enabled, and allows facts to be remembered.
