A segurança da informação em acervos arquivísticos: estudo de caso no Arquivo Geral da Pró-Reitoria Administrativa da Universidade Federal da Paraíba

The security of information is an important action to preserve collection of records. It is founded upon the recommendation of Conselho Nacional de Arquivologia (National Council of Record) – CONARQ – that resolves directives for conservation of records. This research intends to analyze the importance of security of information in Arquivo Geral da Pró-Reitoria Administrativa (General Record of Administration Office of Rectory) of Universidade Federal da Paraíba (Federal University of Paraíba). Such research represents an exploratory and descriptive study. The analyzed population is composed of three professionals that work in sector of mentioned institution. To collection of data, it was utilized the structural interview. At once to analyze of them, it was utilized the qualitative approach. The results demonstrate that the professionals of record have experience in organizing archives. They know well the matter about security of information of theirs sector and the directives of CONARQ, but, according to them, these directives will be applied when there is removal of record to a new building. They mentioned too the principal difficulties in security of information in record: negligent administration, unsatisfactory framework, perceptibility of record in university, low financial investment to look up the record, scarcity of able professionals, lack of management of documents, absence of jurisdiction to perform in record. The actions for a system of information security is effectively changing the General Archive of the Administrative Pro-Rector of the Federal University of Paraíba to the building under construction, adopting the following suggestions: the development schedule for cleaning and disinfection, or rather extermination sector where the documentation, the construction of a room for cleaning machines; review the validity of extinguishers, the use of exhaust fans in the room of the acquis for moisture control, re-use to disclose the file on page UFPB, and preparation of an emergency plan.
