Abstract
dc:description.abstractThe present research centers upon Programa Nacional de Acesso ao Ensino Técnico e Emprego (PRONATEC), offered to youth and adults under the perspective of education, qualification and lifelong learning. This very study depicts and remarks how such program has been operationalized in a national scale as well as in the State of Paraíba, particularly, with careful regard to its initiatives and proposed actions. How has Programa Nacional de Acesso ao Ensino Técnico e Emprego (PRONATEC), aimed at the youth and adult professional teaching, been operationalized and offered to such groups, especially in the State of Paraíba? What is its link with the youth and adult education? What is the connection between this very program and the labour market? The objectives strictly followed the research questions whose intent is: to present PRONATEC, offered to the young and adults under the perspective of education, qualification and lifelong learning, depicting and making remarks about its operationalization in the State of Paraíba and, also, as a program that is directly related to the education/qualification of the young and adults. The specific objectives deal with knowning the offers, goals and characteristics of PRONATEC; identifying selection criteria for the courses according to the regions on the national level, especially in Paraíba; knowing its target audience and both positive and negative sides as to the students who attend PRONATEC’s technical course in Paraíba. In order to conduct this research a bibliographic and documentary method as well as a survey composed of open and closed questions have been used aiming to characterize students that attend the technical course on logistics in Paraíba. Thus, this very study concludes that PRONATEC, through its objectives, offers professional and technical education through its courses with the intention of qualifying future workers and citizens as well.
