Movimentos de resistência à monogamia compulsória: a luta por direitos sexuais e afetivos no século XXI

Abstract

dc:description.abstract

This work analyzes the discourse employed by a group that belongs to the movement towards affirmation of sexual and affective multiplicity. It includes a case study of Rede Relações Livres, a Porto Alegre-based collective that works in resistance to compulsory monogamy. The analysis is conducted using Foucault's genealogical method, a procedure that analyzes power relations operating in society and disseminating centers of power-knowledge, in which some discourses become hegemonic and others subaltern. The collective is revealed to have a political stance, since it articulates strategic, cooperative and cognitive actions as part of a struggle for respect of its sexual and affective expressions, in a context in which sexual rights remain heteronormative in nature. The collective's difficulty in dialoguing with other social movements points towards the need for political strategies disassociated from identities in the struggle for sexual and affective rights.
