Cultura de arquibancada: inter-relações no território no bairro de Canabrava
Abstract
dc:description.abstractThe Manoel Barradas Stadium, the Canabrava neighborhood, and Esporte Clube Vitória (ECV) are symbolic phenomena in the city of Salvador. The research, based on the theories of Milton Santos, Muniz Sodré, and Gilberto Giménez, investigates how the stadium transcends its sporting function, becoming a geosymbol that influences the socio-spatial, economic, cultural, and identity dynamics of the neighborhood. To this end, an analysis of the history of the ECV was carried out, from its origins to the construction of Barradão, and the impacts of this construction on Canabrava and its surroundings. The study also investigates the public's perception of the importance of the stadium for the territory, highlighting economic and infrastructure improvements, in addition to the strengthening of local identity. It is concluded that Barradão is a catalyst for transformations in Canabrava, reflecting the social, racial, and economic dynamics of Salvador.
