Curso de Licenciatura em Educação do Campo – área das Ciências da Natureza na UFBA: contribuições da Pedagogia Histórico-Crítica

The present work aims to investigate the Rural Teaching Degree course/UFBA-2008 and the new Rural Education Degree Course that is being proposed to operate regularly from 2025. With the winning of a federal government in the 2022 elections, after 6 years of educational policies setbacks, we understand that it will now be possible to present a new concrete proposal for a Degree course in Rural Education in Natural Sciences area, which advances the perspective of omnilateral training of a nature critical-dialectical, with institutional support from UFBA and Secadi/MEC/FNDE. Therefore, this research aims to present foundations for a curriculum proposal for a new Degree Course in Rural Education at UFBA, area of Natural Sciences (Chemistry, Physics and Biology), based on the foundations of historical-dialectical materialism , based on historical-critical pedagogy. To achieve the intended goal, the theoretical-methodological assumptions of the UFBA-2008 pilot experience were analyzed, as well as the contradictions and challenges to be overcome. The research was developed using materialist philosophy as its guiding principle for a dialectical understanding of the educational reality of the countryside, taking into account the demands for the training of rural teachers and the increase in the educational level of young and adult rural workers. To achieve this, we used: 1) bibliographical research and semi-structured interviews; and 2) analysis of the database (theses and dissertations) of the Rural Education research group (GEPEC/UFBA). The results contribute to support a new curricular proposal for teacher training for the countryside, from a socio-historical perspective, with a critical-overcoming nature and point out subsidies for curriculum practice based on historical-critical pedagogy, historical-dialectic materialism and its perspective of direction towards an omnilateral and counter-hegemonic formation.
