Avaliação de coleção técnico-científica de uma instituição de pesquisa

An evaluation of the effectiveness of the prepublication collection owned by Instituto de Pesquisas Espaciais (INPE) was conducted. The collection is composed of 20.000 items (technical reports, preprints and monographs) The high obsolescence of such publications added to changes in the research programmes make periodic up-dating of acquisition policy mandatory User profile, collection size and circulation data per subject were collected. These information are used to suggest adequate acquisition and weeding policies.
