Abstract
dc:description.abstractThe analysis, design, detailing and drawing of reinforced concrete multistory buildings by desk-computers are the main objectives of this work. A FORTRAN 77 language especific system based on the work of Menezes [25] was developed, where the floors are considered as grids supported on the columns and with elastic springs for rotation in both directions. Drawings are obtained using Microsoft Grafic Library (PLOT88), with the output device options being the printer, plotter or screen. The system is composed of two parts. The first performs the analysis and the design of the structures. The data input for this part are the geometrical, topological and loading characteristics of the building as well as the material properties. The second part deals with the detailing and drawing of the beams. Here the data input are the output device characteristics and, when it is the case, the wanted alterations in the reinforcement. The design and detailing of the structures are based on the NBR-6118 recommendations.
