Abstract
dc:description.abstractThe purpose of this work is to analyse the use of the Boundary Element Method (BEM) for solving the problem defined by the forced vibration of a pair of slender circular cylinders immersed in aninfinite fluid domain. The formulation of the problem is done through the assumption of simplifying hipoteses, which reduce its solution to a complex potential determination. In arder to perform the above mentioned analysis, an analytic solution for the problem was developed and compared with the values obtained through the BEM numerical solution. In the comparing of those solutions, the values of the additional mass coeficients for the problem were used.
