A non-linear mathernatical model is developed to describe the dynarnic response of a class of pneumatic actuators. Pararnetric studies were conducted using digital simulation. Different types of input signals were used to actuate the pneurnatic servo. A linearized rnodel is constructed and compared with the non-linear model. Design strategies and recomendations are reported to assist the designer in selecting the geometric parameters of that class of actuators. The rnodel can be easilly extended and adapted to suit other types of actuators.
