dc:description.abstractThis dissertation is dedicated to a comprehensive exploration of cognitive and sensorimotor representations and their respective roles in motor performance and learning. Specifically, it focuses on goal-directed tasks to assess motor performance and bimanual tasks to understand motor learning. The primary objective is to elucidate how these representations influence and interact within different contexts of motor task execution and skill acquisition.<br /> Motor learning is inherently a complex process, deeply influenced by the interplay of cognitive and sensorimotor factors. This research aims to untangle these intricate dynamics, particularly emphasizing the varying task requirements encountered by introducing a novel bimanual maze game. By delving into these dimensions, the dissertation seeks to expand the current understanding of motor skill development, performance, and the methodologies employed in their training.
