The life and ideas of Naruse Jinzo up to the time of the founding of Nihon Joshi Daigakko (1901)
Abstract
dc:description.abstractThe Meiji Restoration of 1868 ushered in a period of revolutionary social and political change, during which the traditional bases of the social order were questioned and often adapted in an effort to find a social order and a system of values valid for a Japan which was contending with the military, economic and intellectual might of the Western powers, at a time when they were embarking on a period of unparalleled world splendour.
