Nowe katalizatory amooksydacji propanu i glicerolu

Abstract

The subject of the doctoral dissertation is related to the efforts on development of effective catalysts of propane and glycerol ammoxidation. The aim of the doctoral dissertation was to synthesise new catalysts containing vanadium, antimony and niobium, characterisation of their texture, structure, surface properties and testing their activity in ammoxidation of propane and glycerol and oxidation of methanol. The rutile type structure of antimony-vanadium oxide Sb0.95V0.95O4, in which vanadium occurs in the reduced form (V4+/3+), is responsible for the selectivity in formation of acrylonitrile in propane ammoxidation. The presence of SbVO5 in the catalysts leads to breaking of C-C bond in propane which directs the reaction course towards formation of acetonitrile. The chemical composition of the support determines the strength of interaction of the vanadium-antimony oxides deposited with the support and thus the catalytic activity. In the NbMCM-41 support, niobium was proved to stabilise the rutile type structure by its interaction with vanadium. The stabilisation led to increased yield of nitriles in the ammoxidation reaction. An interesting result of the study was determination of the influence of the chemical composition of the support, the amount of vanadium and antimony used for impregnation and the effect of the conditions of treatment after modification on the course of the oxidation and ammoxidation reactions. Recognition of the above effects permitted control of the oxidation and ammoxidation processes by purposeful changes in the above conditions.
