Abstract
Celem tej pracy jest rozwiązanie dwóch problemów typu Ramseyowskiego dotyczących równań liniowych. W pierwszej części pracy będziemy badali równanie x1+…+xk=y1+…+yk+b, gdzie b jest pewną dodatnią liczbą całkowitą. Potwierdzimy hipotezę Foxa i Kleitmana o stopniu regularności pokazując, że istnieje taka liczba całkowita b=b(n) zależna od liczby zmiennych, że dowolne kolorowanie liczb naturalnych przy użyciu 2n-1 kolorów zawiera monochromatyczne rozwiązanie tego równania. Dowód tego wyniku będzie wymagał uogólnienia twierdzenia strukturalnego Eberharda, Greena i Mannersa o zbiorach o stałej podwojenia mniejszej od 4. W drugiej części pracy będziemy rozważali uogólnione równanie Schura x1+…+xk-1=xk. Częściowo odpowiemy na pytanie Datskovsky'ego o minimalną liczbę monochromatycznych rozwiązań tego równania w 2-kolorowaniach grupy cyklicznej, gdy k jest liczbą parzystą. The aim of this thesis is to solve two Ramsey-type problems concerning linear equations. We will first study the equation x1+…+xk=y1+…+yk+b, where b is some positive integer. We will confirm the Conjecture of Fox and Kleitman on the degree of regularity by showing that there exists a positive integer b=b(n) depending on the number of variables n such that any coloring of the natural numbers with 2n-1 colors contains a monochromatic solution to this equation. To prove this result we generalize the structural theorem of Eberhard, Green and Manners on sets of doubling less than 4. In the second part of the thesis we will consider the generalized Schur equation x1+…+xk-1=xk. We will partially answer the question of Datskovsky about the minimal number of monochromatic solutions to this equation under 2-colorings of a cyclic group, when k is an even number.
