Selbstwirksamkeit als Indikator für psychische Störungen : Status und Verlauf

Abstract

dc:description

The cognition "self-efficacy", described by Bandura and decisively developed by Schwarzer, is an interesting and still promising concept to explain behavior at a fixed point as well as changing over a period of time. The study shows that self-efficacy is varying by patients with different psychic diseases. Patients with anxiety, depression and eating disorders have a low self-efficacy. Related to the diagnosis sexual or somatoform dysfunction is often a high self-efficacy. Furthermore patients with a low self-efficacy suffer from a higher level of anxiety, depression, physical and interpersonal problems. In the analysed stationary therapy self-efficacy rises over the whole time, the body-related self-efficacy strongly, the activity and communication-related self-efficacy a little less. The last important point of the study describes, that patients with a low self-efficacy demand more analgetics and depressants than patients with a high self-efficacy. The results are important for the optimal treatment of patients with psychic problems and could also be of great importance for further research of other diseases respectively patients in both acute and long term therapy.
