Thrombozytenantikörper bei Hepatitis-C-Infektion für die Diagnose einer Autoimmunthrombozytopenie
Abstract
dc:descriptionThe subject of this dissertation is to examine, if thrombocytopenia in patients with a chronic hepatitis C virus infection is caused through specific platelet autoantibodies. Which influence has the therapy with alpha-interferon on the development of platelet antibodies? Does the viral load, the HCV-genotype and the state of fibrosis influence the production of platelet antibodies? The blood of 52 patients with chronic Hepatitis C infection was tested several times by the so called MAIPA-test for the detection of specific platelet antibodies. Also during the several states of interferon-therapie the blood was tested. As control group 35 patients with an alcoholic liver damage were examined. The results were compared with other laboratory results and medical findings in these patients. Summarized you can say, that irrespective of the frequent development of thrombocytopenia and platelet autoantibodies in patients with a chronic hepatitis C infection the detection of antibodies cannot support the diagnosis of an autoimmunthrombocytopenia. Therefore the proof of antibodies is not helpful in the decision to start or to drop the Interferon-therapy for patients with an HCV associated thrombocytopenia.
