Unterkritisches Rißwachstum von Dentalkeramik am Beispiel von OPTEC OPC

The fatigue strength of the glass ceramic OPTEC OPC can be determined by Strength Probability Time Diagram. For that the following parameters are needed: weibull-modul characteristic strength, strength toughness and parameters of subcritical crack growth. These parameters were determined using fracture strength of OPTEC OPC specimens in bending test with for point support. Regarding the statistical and mechanical crack parameters OPTEC OPC is equivalent to the dental ceramic Empress 1 which is mainly used as all-ceramic crowns.
