Biocompatible ultrathin coatings from isocyanate terminated star PEG prepolymers
Abstract
dc:descriptionIn this thesis the synthesis of end group terminated 6 arm starpolymers is prescribed. To achieve this different hydroxyl terminated star polymers were treated with isophorone diisocyanate, acrylic acid chloride or divinyl sulfone respectively. Important therby was the surpression of the unwanted chain extension and colouring of the products. These polymers were then coated onto amine terminated surfaces. It turned out to be the biggest issue to prevent dewetting of the polymers from the surface. The coatings then could selectively be functionalised and with oligonucleotides and then hybridised with the complementary strain.
