Abstract
dc:descriptionThe seismic behaviour of the granular material silos is not well known. To simulate the seismic behaviour a numerical model was developed. The model consists of three components, these being the granular material, the contact area between the granular material and the silo wall and the silo wall itself. The hypoplasticity is used to describe the material behaviour of the granular material. Different versions of hypoplasticity have been investigated. Finally the intergranular strain was the best approach to describe the seismic behaviour. The numerical model has been verified by experiments. The results point out that the numerical model is able to describe the time depending behaviour of granular material silos.
