Korrelation der Diskusposition im MRT mit klinischen Befunden und Ergebnissen aus der FRS- und Modellanalyse unter besonderer Berücksichtigung der okklusalen Beziehungen
Abstract
dc:description58 patients (94 temporo mandibular joints) were examined by means of MRI, clinical examination, cephalometric x-ray and evaluation of anatomic models. With the results of the MRI the patients were put in three groups (normal position of the disk [NDP], anterior displacement of disk with reposition [VMR], ], anterior displacement of disk without reposition [VOR]). The goal of this study was to find significant relations between the groups according to occlusal, cephalometrical and clinical parameters. Results: Posterior transversal width of the maxilla was higher in NDP than in VMR and VOR. Overjet was significantly higher in VMR and VOR. Patients with VOR had a higher incidence of distal occlusion than the other groups. The position of the middle incisors of the maxilla was steeper in VMR and VOR. Interincisal angle was larger in VMR and VOR. Patients with VMR and VOR had a significantly higher incidence of mandibular retrusion. Pathological varieties (stretched, compressed, etc.) were significantly increased in VMR and VOR. Patients with VMR and VOR were mostly of female sex. Patients with VOR and VMR had a aching and handicapped mouth-opening (active and passive).
