Experimentelle Analyse der hämostaseologischen und zellulären Reparaturvorgänge nach interventionellem Verschluß arterieller Aneurysmen

dc:descriptionIn 20 rabbits terminal arterial bifurcation aneurysms were produced microsurgically to investigate early intraluminal thrombosis following endovascular treatment of terminal aneurysms and to asses histological changes during the first three weeks after treatment. Constructed aneurysms were occluded by transfemoral angiography and application of platinum coils (Guglielmi Detachable Coils[R]; Target Therapeutics). Complete occlusion was achieved in ten aneurysms. A small remnant of aneurysmal lumen located in the neck region was seen in in eight cases (95% occlusion). In two cases occlusion was about 70%-80%. For anticoagulation heparin was given to 10 of the animals during endovascular treatment and for the following 48 hours. Four aneuryms were studied by angiography and histological analysis (two without and two with anticoagulation) after a period of 24-48 hours, 3-4 days, 6-7 days, 14 days and 21 days respectively. Complete occlusion by early thrombus formation was found in all cases during the first two days after treatment. After three to seven days recanalisation began in the neck, proceding to the dome. After two to three weeks complete recanalisation was detected in six out of eight aneurysms. Early intraluminal thrombus formation and recanalisation was not influenced by anticoagulation. Compared to pathological examination the degree of occlusion was overestimated in angiography in nine cases.
