Globale Bewegungsbeschreibung und Video-Mosaiking unter Verwendung parametrischer 2-D-Modelle, Schätzverfahren und Anwendungen
Abstract
dc:descriptionThis dissertation deals with the description of global motion using parametric 2-D motion models and with the generation and application of video mosaics. The parametric 2-D motion models are derived, their properties are described and illustrated. In a new approach presented in this work an initial estimate of global translation is calculated using a feature-based technique. In addition available results of preceding estimations are used for prediction. Compared to state-of-the-art differential global motion estimators this results in an increased reliability of the estimates, and in a decreased computational complexity. This algorithm is extended for robust estimation without using a priori available segmentation masks, by incorporation of an efficient outlier rejection mechanism. In this context a comparative study of the suitability of the different parametric 2-D motion models for global motion description and video mosaicing is given. It is described, how the developed algorithms can be applied for video coding using MPEG-4. Moreover a new online sprite coding scheme is presented, that combines the coding efficiency of MPEG-4 static sprite coding with increased real-time transmission capabilities. Furthermore, the application in an interactive video segmentation system is described. Finally, the motion parameters and mosaics can be used for content description of video in the context of MPEG-7.
