Entwicklung von Polymermembranen für die Abtrennung von Kohlendioxid aus Gasströmen
Abstract
dc:descriptionThe development of new polymers for selective separation of carbon dioxide with polymeric membranes is based upon the fact that amino groups in aqueous matrices facilitate the transportation of carbon dioxide. Therefore polymethacrylates and polyacrylates with different amino groups in side chains, polymers based on 4-vinylpyrridin and co-polymers of each with acrylonitrile were synthesised. Gas separation properties were tested for the gases H2, He, N2, O2, CO2 and CH4. The influence of the polymeric structure on the diffusion and solubility coefficients and therefore on the permeability was discussed and assigned to structural elements. It was shown that by the introduction of amino-functional groups in a given polymeric matrix the solubility coefficient of carbon dioxide increases. However the diffusion coefficient appeared to be affected much stronger by structural changes of the polymeric main- or side-chains. To create optimal conditions for facilitated diffusion, gas fluxes were tested pressure- and temperature-dependent. None of these tests gave rise to a facilitated diffusion of carbon dioxide in amino-functional polymers as postulated in literature. Furthermore it was shown using cellulose acetate as selective layer, that a further increase of gas flux, by keeping the same selectivity, is possible, when the film formation is performed with coating solutions containing a highly evaporating solvent and a non-solvent with a lower evaporating rate.
